Sadly, search results are useless
The other day I realized that when I search, I don’t use the suggested websites. I am consistently either including Reddit in the search field or looking for Reddit results.
In daily use, the search results are mostly atrocious these days. There are so many “how-to” articles that are clearly written by an LLM, that there is no value in using them. More often than not the information is too broad and doesn’t solve the issues you’re searching for. I find that I spend more time scrolling down to find a forum (wow those are back) since there is a higher chance of content actually being good and applicable.
The only results that still work outside of Reddit are the ones that are true to the product. If I’m looking for info on a tool, or car, or fridge model. Those still work because they lead to the manufacturer/creator.
Outside of that, just LLM slop.
