Project management is not sexy, but it is a necessity. Majority of people do not want to worry about timelines, paperwork,or updating others on the progress.
As an industry, it has been basterdized due to what happens when things don’t go according to a plan. In my personal experience, you can be told all the right things about how the company will change it’s approach, but as soon as someone becomes nervous, all those promises go away.
The reason why project management, in my eyes, is simple is because people are the ones that make it more complicated. Either a big boss thinks his feature is more important, or a CEO is pressuring for a shorter deadline. People want more control, and trust less those same people they hired to do a specific job.
Give up control. Trust the people you hired.
